Samir Faerevik Aarab was born in Norway and raised in Norway and Morocco. When he was 19, he represented Norway in the International Philosophy Olympics in Cosenza, a city in Calabria, Italy. After, he attended the University of Saint Andrews in Scotland, United Kingdom. There, he studied International Relations, Political Theory, and Economics. After completing his master’s degree in political theory, Sam worked as a policy Economics Fellow at the United States Senate for Senator Jon Tester. He traveled to the United States to attend law school at the University of Montana. During law school, Sam was a member of the law school’s competitive negotiations team, an editor at the Montana Law Review, and served as president of the Student Bar Association.
As part of his clinical requirements, Sam also worked at the Montana Consumer Protection Office. After graduating from law school, Sam clerked for Chief Justice Mike McGrath at the Montana Supreme Court in Helena, Montana. Sam then clerked for Judge Gregory Todd in the 13th Judicial District in Billings, Montana. In 2017, Sam founded Boland Aarab with his wife, Caitlin, in Great Falls, Montana. Boland Aarab is a successor law firm to Tom Boland’s legal career in Great Falls Montana. It is based and inspired by the same principles, holding powerful entities accountable by going to trial.
Since the founding of Boland Aarab, Sam has practiced municipal, justice, and district court and in front of the Montana Supreme Court. He has also practiced in federal district court across the state and in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Sam exclusively focuses his practice on trial litigation in both federal and state courts. Sam is a trial and appellate lawyer. He has tried dozens of cases in multiple jurisdictions. He has also tried jury trials to verdict both in Federal and District court. Additionally, he has appeared and argued in the Ninth Circuit of Appeals. Sam has also represented his local legal community with the State Bar of Montana. He served two terms as the Area D Trustee and was honored for his contribution to that organization.
Sam is a father of four and spends his time with his family and investing in his community.
